Are You Waiting On The Lord?
‘Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.’
These are the words David ends Psalm 27 with.
(If you have time, take a moment to read the whole Psalm, i think you’ll find it will encourage you.)
This word wait that the last verse begins with has the idea of expectancy, to look eagerly for what we expect. Is this how we look to the Lord, with eager anticipation? I think this really sums up the whole psalm, David’s expectant hope and trust in the Lord.
It’s one thing to pray but we need more than just words.
It requires God to give us faith to truly pray, then by faith we will be expectantly waiting, eagerly anticipating the answer.
‘Wait on the Lord’. Not just waiting but waiting on the Lord, not looking to man to provide the solution although God may use man to fulfil His purposes, not trusting in our own ability to get the outcome we desire but waiting on the Lord, seeking for Him to appear for us, sitting at His feet, eagerly waiting for the answer.
‘Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.’
So wait on dear friend, keep and seeking trusting and the Lord will appear. Wait on Him by precious faith and in prayer and He will appear in His own perfect time and way. Be of good courage, if the answer is wait, then sit a little longer at His feet, continue to plead with Him and wait expectantly for God to answer. Do not fear but put your trust in God and He will strengthen your heart, ‘wait, I say, on the LORD.’

This is so precious, dear sister! What a confirming encouragement! I am in this “waiting room,” and it’s not easy, but it would be so foolish to let impatience and/or suffering to cause me to move out ahead of or away from our loving Heavenly Father and His plans, timing & ways! He is worth the wait!
He most definitely is worth the wait. The waiting is certainly hard though but you don’t wait alone.
