Are you an almost or an altogether Christian?
Believe, trust, faith, hope. They’re words we’re familiar with if we read the Bible or go to services but what do they really mean to us?
Are we a Christian just in name or are we truly following Christ Jesus?
Do we believe in our hearts not just our heads, that the Jesus Christ is Lord? Our Lord and that He died not just for sinners but for Our sins?
‘If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.’
Or maybe somewhere deep down we’re thinking that we’re not quite good enough. We think there’s something we need to do rather than simply humble ourselves, accept that we have absolutely nothing to bring and put our faith and trust in Jesus?
Or have you even trusted in Jesus?
Do you think there’ll be time to think about that in the future and are leaving it until another day?
Or like king Agrippa, ‘almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.’
With Paul I would reply to you…
‘I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am.’
Friend, eternity is a long time to be wrong!
Don’t trust in your works, don’t hope you’ll have another day but look to Jesus and put your faith and trust in Him.
‘Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.’
In love
