How Do You Live With Open Hands and Heart

January 10, 2024 by saltblog Leave a Comment

How do you live with open hands and heart.

Let’s look first at some of examples in the Bible.

What did Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Samuel, Isaiah, Ananias all have in common?

These 3 words – ‘Here am I’, ‘I am here’.

They all came to a point in their lives, whether old or young, where they stood before God with open hands and said here I am.

‘Here am I; send me.’

‘Behold, I am here, Lord.’

They were ready to do God’s will, to go wherever He sent, to follow where He lead, to do as He commanded.

Are we?

Are we standing before God with open hands as we begin 2024?

Can we say with Jesus, ‘not my will, but Thine, be done’?

The only way we can truly live with open hands is to believe with all our heart that God’s way is best.

‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.’

‘For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD. Thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.’

Will you trust an all knowing God with your unknown future? And face this year with open hands and a heart that says here I am Lord?
