How to move forward when you’re afraid?
Once again Israel stands at the border of the promised land. They’ve been here before but the first time fear kept them out.
Sometimes we’re the same, the Lord gives us clear direction but fear holds us back.
This brought much trouble for the children of Israel and may bring trouble into our lives too.
Obedience may be scary at times but God doesn’t send us into battle alone, He’s promised to go before us.
Moses have the children of Israel this encouragement. The same promise is true for us when we walk in obedience…
‘Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them. For the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee, He will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.’
Friend, we don’t need to be afraid of what the future holds when we know and follow the One who holds the future in His loving hands.
‘Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God. I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.’
Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the LORD:’
So how do you move forward in faith when you’re afraid?
Don’t be afraid to obey your God, go forward in faith, however feeble that faith may be and He will go before you. Yes trials may come but you’ll never need to face them alone with God on your side so go forward in faith ‘for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.’
