What does the Bible say About God’s Word Being Sure?

January 4, 2024 by saltblog Leave a Comment

What does the Bible say about God’s word being sure?

‘For ever O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven’! This truth alone assures us that God’s word is sure.

The pure word of God we looked at yesterday is settled in heaven for ever!

Nothing can alter it, nothing can make those precious promises invalid, those precious truths of God’s words, they are eternal, they are for ever and ever.

No scheme of the devil, no plot of man, no doubts that assault your mind can destroy the truth!

‘For ever O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven’!

Our feelings may challenge this truth but they can’t alter it. Our feelings can be helpful, God may use them to draw us closer to Him but we can’t rely on feelings.

If we have been redeemed and forgiven, if we’ve had those precious promises applied with power to our hearts and souls in the past and had that blessed assurance then but currently don’t feel it, that doesn’t change the fact that we’re redeemed.

The things we experienced and felt were a result of that redemption but the redemption stands whatever our feelings are now. Our feelings are not a barometer of whether or not we’re saved but God’s truth is.

‘Thy faithfulness is unto all generations’. Yes all generations, from Adam to the time Jesus walked this earth right up to today, God’s faithfulness is unto Our generation!  It’s to me and to you.

What precious truth to think about and rest in if we have put our trust in Jesus Christ!

So what does the Bible say about God’s word being sure?

‘For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.’

With Love from your Friend
