But God…

February 29, 2024 by saltblog Leave a Comment

But God…

We were as dead as any other sinner, ‘dead in trespasses and sins,’…walking according to the course of this world…fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others’ But God…

‘BUT GOD, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)’

What a wonder if there’s been a ‘but God’ in our lives.

Saved by God’s amazing grace!

Oh the mercy, the love that sweetly drew us to Him. And the grace that carry’s us through each day!

Yet how quickly we can get bogged down by the cares of this life.  Carrying them about with us like a heavy burden!

But God…

Whatever our day may look like we always have this to rejoice in! We have a loving Heavenly Father in heaven. We have a dear Friend and brother, Jesus Christ, who is even now pleading in our behalf and we have the Spirit IN us as our helper who also intercedes for us.

You’re not in the battle alone dear Soul, you have been bought with an innumerable price, the precious blood of Jesus.

You are dearly loved and ‘He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:’

He has already won the victory and you too will have victory through Him.

Sin, death and hell will be swallowed up in victory.

‘Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.’

Friend, ‘Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee. He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.’

If nothing else we have Jesus so let’s go forward, rejoicing in that, as God uses the trials to wean us from this world.

‘Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.’

With Love
