“My Peace I Give Unto You”

Our life is full of ups and downs,
It often trouble brings.
But in the Saviour we can find
A peace that all transcends.
.
Compare with this world’s fragile peace
That melts when trouble comes,
A momentary peace at best
And in an instant gone.
.
But when Christ rose He left his peace,
With us on earth below,
Who trust His perfect sacrifice,
His peace it fills our soul.
.
In each Believer now there dwells
His Holy Spirit dear,
To comfort, help, to guide and teach,
Through Him, Christ’s always near.
.
In Him there’s peace without a flaw,
A peace this world can’t shake.
Though tempests rage and troubles rise,
This peace they cannot take.
.
For on the Solid Rock we stand,
And nought can shake us off.
And if our eyes on Christ are fixed
Our peace can’t be removed.
.
So Christ, a lasting peace He gives
When trusting Him alone.
This peace is not our own but His,
A gift of grace divine.
.
Lord let me daily know this peace,
This perfect peace of Thine.
And by Thy Spirit dwelt within
Find rest in Thee alone.
