Praying With Faith in Who God Is

Praying With Faith in Who God Is

As I stood in the garden early this morning before the sun came up there was a beautiful dawn chorus.

Then as the sun came up there was a beautiful sunset.

Beautiful reminders of God’s faithfulness in bringing a new day and caring for the birds.

Whatever trials there may be in our lives, whatever pain, grief, hurt, sorrows, God is faithful through it all.

Storms come but there’s always a purpose.

Are we trusting God, really trusting Him in our trials?

Are we praying, trusting not only that God will answer in His own perfect way and time, but that He is who He says He is?

Like David did, we may wrestle long and hard in prayer and our prayers not be answered in the way we hoped. But remember, the point of prayer is not to make God do what we want.

We come humbly in prayer to a loving and sovereign God to align ourselves with His will. We come trusting in His faithfulness, trusting His character, trusting Him to do what is best.

Yes we can pray specifically and with faith but all the while trusting and believing that God’s way is truly perfect.  And if His answer is different to what we’ve asked it’s because He has a loving purpose in it.

No, not using this as an excuse for our lack of faith but praying fervently for specifics with confidence in God’s mercy for ‘who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me’.  Praying with faith in who God is, in His character and in surrender to His perfect will and love.

Keep praying and trusting God, He truly does care.
