‘We Love Him Because He First Loved Us.’

January 22, 2024 by saltblog 1 Comment

‘We love Him because He first loved us.’

It was His love that drew us to Him and it’s His love that continues to work in our lives.

Our circumstances may be hard but that doesn’t mean that God’s heart has become hard.

He still loves you dear soul with the same intense, tender love that first drew you to Him.

His love in your circumstances is infinitely pure.

If you could see intensity of His love, pity and tenderness as He looks at you in your hard circumstances it would overwhelm you.

A sunrise with blue sky at the top fading into purple and then a bright pinky orange. at the top there is a silhouette of a pine branch and at the bottom silhouettes of trees on the horizon

There’s nothing but love in the things He’s allowed to happen in your life.  Perfect love that has promised to work even your hardest trials together for your good if you love Him and He has called you to be His child.

For ‘we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.’

Do you believe it?

What God said to Israel all those years ago applies to each and every child in His spiritual Israel today. To each precious soul that has put their trust in Him He says…

‘Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away. Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.’

See the sweet certainty of this verse and how personal it is.

Try reading it again and putting emphasis on a different word each time and see how sure, certain and personal this promise is.

Yes God is a perfectly just and holy God and these are vital attributes that are part of His beauty but because He is perfect He is also Merciful and Loving and that love and mercy sent His precious Son Jesus Christ to bear the wrath of a perfect, Holy God that was justly due to us while mercy and love drew us to Him.

So trust Him in the fire, it’s not to consume you only to refine and make you reflect His image a little more.

His way is always best.

‘As for God, His way is perfect.’

“When through fiery trials thy pathway shall lie,

My grace all-sufficient shall be thy supply;

The flame shall not hurt thee; I only design

Thy dross to consume, and thy gold to refine.”

With Love

thank you for these lovely words & encouraging reminder from THE Word of God – truth to stay upon when everything is overwhelming right now in a difficult circumstance with my poor father’s health! Jesus is able & He LOVES us!
