The Good Shepherd – Psalm 23

The Lord, He leads me on,
For He my Shepherd is.
He guides my footsteps in His path
And keeps my stumbling feet.
.
The Lord, He doth provide,
He knows my every need,
So I will trust Him to supply,
And for me intercede.
.
To pastures green He leads,
And feasts my weary soul,
Upon the lush fields of His Word,
Until my heart is full.
.
By waters still He leads
And lets me drink my fill,
Of the rich treasures of His grace,
So I may do His will.
.
With loving, tender care,
My soul He doth restore,
My feet He turns back from the snare,
Away from paths impure.
.
Into His Way He leads,
The path of righteousness,
So that all might know and see
The glory of His Grace.
.
Yes, trials they will come,
The path through valleys lead
But in the sorrow and the pain
Right by my side He’ll be.
.
Though death it’s ugly head
Rears up, I will not fear,
My Shepherd did the valley tread,
With me He’ll now be near.
.
His rod will me correct,
When from the path I stray,
Draw me to lean upon His grace,
And walk in wisdom’s way.
.
With staff He’ll me protect,
The foe He’ll drive away.
His rod and staff do comfort bring,
They keep me in His way.
.
When enemies surround
My Shepherd doth prepare,
A feast of grace, where love abounds
To keep me from despair.
.
His grace He pours on me,
Abounding grace indeed,
O’erflowing in sufficiency,
It meets my every need.
.
Surely I need not fear
His goodness, mercy, love,
Shall follow me through all my days
‘Til safe with Him above.
.
SMI
With love
