Do I like Martha rush around,
So full of anxious care,
Or do I kneeling on the ground,
My Saviour seek in prayer.
.
Oh yes, the jobs they must be done
But when my Saviour calls
Do I obey and swiftly come
And leave behind my chores?
.
The dust, yes that will fall again,
The spider spin her web,
But moments with my Saviour lost
Can ne’er again be had.
.
But when the chores I leave behind
To sit at Jesus feet
‘Tis then I sweet communion find,
A safe and sure retreat.
.
But what about the times you say,
When duty can’t be left?
Ah, then our thoughts can flee away
And in our Saviour rest.
.
Who then dear Soul will we put first
In each and every day,
Dishes, dinner, sleep and dust
Or Jesus Christ alway?
.
