What Are You Willing to Give In Exchange For Your Soul?

“What shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” It’s Jesus that asks us this question.

Or to flip the question, what will it profit you if you gain the whole world for a few luxury filled years, then spend eternity in hell?

What are you clinging to that you don’t want to give up to follow Jesus?

Which is of more value?

A little pleasure, a little ease and comfort, some fun now? 

Or an eternity with Jesus in heaven.

Or which would rather, deny self now and live for Christ, doing God’s will? (By the way, it’s where true peace and joy are found, a peace that you won’t understand until you’ve felt it.) Or have things your way now and spend an eternity in misery and torment.

In this ‘have it all now’ world it’s easy to forget that even if you live to be 100 it’s like a click of your fingers compared to eternity.

Death may seem a long way off, “I’ll think about that another day.”

But what if you don’t have another day?

What if God was to say to you ‘this night thy soul shall be required of thee’? 

Are you ready?

Are you ready to stand in front of the One who made you and answer for each thing you’ve said and done?

Have your sins been forgiven? Have they been cast into the depths of the sea? Are they covered in the precious blood of Jesus and His righteousness?

If not then turn to Jesus, He died so that we could live, not just for a few years here but for eternity!
