Fear thou not, for I am with thee,

I, The Great, Almighty God,

I who gives each breath, each heartbeat,

I this way have also trod.

With thee all along life’s journey,

Step by step I’ll hold thy hand,

Fear not then, though faint and weary

I’ll be with thee to the end.

I’m thy God, be not dismayéd,

Though the waves so big appear,

Be still, know that I’m thy God

In the storm I’m always near.

Thee I’ll help and strengthen also,

When you’re weak my strength I’ll give,

I’ll uphold and carry safe through,

By my strength thy soul shall live.

My righteous right hand will hold thee 

Even though the trials come,

I’m with thee, I’ll keep thee, bear thee,

Carry thee ‘til safely home. 

So take heart dear weary sailor

Soon the port you’ll safely reach

No more tears or sorrows ever,

When on heaven’s shore you beach.
