How Does God view His Children?

May 13, 2025 by saltblog

If we’re born again, how does a Holy God view us?

How does a righteous God view us?

How does a just God view us?

Does He view us as filthy, wretched, unjust sinners?

Does He think we’re not good enough?

No!

How then does God view us in light of the gospel, the good news of what Jesus has done for us?

He views us as complete in Christ. He views us as holy, covered in the righteousness of Christ and justified in His sight.

He says ‘Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee.’ And ‘Thou hast ravished my heart, my sister, my spouse; thou hast ravished my heart with one of thine eyes, with one chain of thy neck. How fair is thy love, my sister, my spouse! how much better is thy love than wine! and the smell of thine ointments than all spices!’ And ‘How fair and how pleasant art thou, O love, for delights!’

‘The king’s daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.’

These beautiful words show us how, we are viewed in Christ.

Not filthy, not wretched, not vile, but loved, cherished, longed after, delighted in!

Do you believe it?

Take your eyes off yourself dear soul, fill your mind with the truth of God’s word and how He views you in Christ. Lean into that abiding position you have in Christ. Cling to Him by faith.

Yes, repent of sin but don’t dwell on your failings, rather consider what He has not only done for you but how He loves and views you.

It’s in knowing and trusting Him that true joy and peace are found.

A joy that makes us delight to do His will and live for Him, not to earn anything but out of love for our Saviour!
