Grace Abounding in Jesus Christ.

Grace Abounding in Jesus Christ.

Do you remember the account of the lady with the oil?

Her husband died leaving her in debt and the creditor has come to take her two sons to be slaves.

But she appeals to Elisha. He asks what she has in the house and she says nothing, ‘save a pot of oil.’

Elisha tells her to borrow every vessel she can, shut herself in the house ‘and she poured out and it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.’  She was then able to sell the oil to pay her debt.

This made me think of us as Believers.  When we first put our trust in Jesus, He comes to live in us through the Holy Spirit.  Through Him we have all we need, all the grace, all the wisdom, all the strength, right there in us, ready to pour out the love of Christ upon those around us.

Friend, whenever we pour out in faith, there’s always more.  Keep looking to God by faith, to fill you with fresh supplies of grace and there’ll always be enough.

‘God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:’

.

2 Kings 4:1-7
