When? That Very Day.

When? That Very Day.

Abraham was commanded by God to circumcise every male as a token of the covenant God made with him.

So, ‘in the selfsame day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his son. And all the men of his house, born in the house, and bought with money of the stranger, were circumcised with him.’

It was the words ‘in the selfsame day that stood out to me.’  That very day!

There was no debating, no deliberating, just immediate obedience.

There’s a saying, “delayed obedience is disobedience.”

When God clearly commands or directs we must obey as soon as we possibly can.

Abraham’s immediate response shows us his faith.

God gave a promise, made a covenant, Abraham believed and that very same day he obeyed. (Although the thing promised was seemingly impossible.)

Maybe the Lord has directed you and it seems impossible, but no dear soul, remember, ‘With God all things are possible’.

So step out in obedience, by faith and go forward trusting God to lead and guide you and make a way where there seems to be no way. Because when God commands He will make a way and give all the grace you need to go forward trusting in Him alone.

‘Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:’

“Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?”

With Love
